Ok friends! We are back from Charleston and oh man! We LOVED it! Charleston will have its own blog post but until I get all the film back I thought I’d share about a little place we fell in love with! Sullivans Island!
We wanted to hit a beach near the area while we were in town and after doing some research we decided to try Sullivans Island.
The firs full day we were in town we decided to wake up around sunrise to check out the beach before it got busy. It was a short 15 minute drive from where we were staying and at the time in the morning we had no trouble parking at all! Where we ended up parking looked to be a residential area right on the beach. I really wasn’t sure what to expect since the only east coast beaches I had been too were freezing cold, crowded and touristy.
When we walked down the little pathway and into the clearing where you could finally see the ocean I was amazed! It truly looked like something from a Nicolas Sparks movie! In my husbands opinion, most beaches are created equal, but not for me! I like things that feel more quaint, less crowded, more authentic! This beach was just that! We played around that morning and as the sun was rising locals and their dogs started appearing. This was like a dream come true for me. There were off leash puppies running around into the ocean playing catch and it was the cutest thing ever! We strolled along, petting a puppy or two enjoying our morning beach time!
After our stroll and some time in the water we walked through the town in some search of coffee. There were so many cute little shops but we ended up picking a place called Beard Cat’s Sweet Shop! It was super cute and everything was locally sourced which is always a plus!
I would highly highly recommend this beach, unless you are allergic to dogs ( which I hope you are not because a puppy-less life would be sad one) !
